Thank you to our London Marathon fundraisers!

Posted on 15 April 2024

We are so grateful to people who undertake sponsored events to raise money to help people with PMR and GCA.

Sometimes the participants are related to someone with either PMR or GCA. Sometimes they are dealing with the diseases themselves. Either way, it is a fantastic way to raise awareness and funds to help us continue to support patients and develop new projects too.

A particular mention to Mark Hone and Graham Callaly who are both running the London Marathon this weekend.

Mark’s mum has had PMR for five years. He’s hoping to raise £1,000 and his employer, EDF, will match this amount and double the sponsorship Mark raises up to a total of £1,000. Today, he’s currently at £633 (with a matching donation of £633 from EDF). If you can help him to hit that £1,000 target, we will receive £2,000 to help more people. You can sponsor Mark here.

Graham Callaly is running the London Marathon because his brother developed GCA shortly after he retired. Both of them runners for 40 years, Graham has already raised £3,000. If you’d like to give him a boost before the day, you can sponsor him here.

Thank you to everyone who has already sponsored one or both of these runners and best of luck to them both on Sunday!

Updated 23rd April to say that Graham has now raised over £3,600 and Mark, over £1,300 with matched donation from EDF of £1,000. Thank you so much to them and all the sponsors – an amazing achievement!
