Madeline is a Rheumatology Clinical Nurse Specialist with more than 30 years’
experience in the specialty. Having worked closely with Professor Dasgupta for many
years, she developed a particular passion for educating and supporting people newly
diagnosed with Polymyalgia Rheumatica and Giant Cell Arteritis.
Throughout her career, Madeline has been committed to helping patients understand
their condition, participate in decisions about their care and feel supported
throughout their treatment journey. She has also contributed to local, national and
international clinical guidelines, bringing specialist nursing expertise and the patient
perspective to their development.
Madeline considers becoming a Trustee of PMR GCA UK a great privilege. She
hopes to use her experience to improve patient education and raise awareness of
these important conditions among the public and healthcare professionals across
both primary and secondary care.
