Geoff joined PMRGCAuk as Treasurer in October 2020. He has been a member of the charity since 2019, following a diagnosis of GCA. He qualified as an accountant in 1976 as a member of the Chartered Institute of Public Finance and Accountancy, having initially joined Durham County Council as a graduate trainee.
Geoff has worked at South West Water Authority based in Exeter and the Mid Surrey Water Company as Financial Controller. In 1988 he joined the London region of British Gas later moving to their international division.
This first period of his working life was a series of mainstream accounting roles in line-management in large organisations, where the international role had some more interesting dimensions. The second half of his career was in the corporate centre of BG which subsequently merged with National Grid. During this period he was employed in Corporate Finance on mixture of mergers and acquisition work and equity and dividend policy. After retiring in 2012 he returned to National Grid for two years working on projects for the pensions department.
Geoff is still a member of the Chartered Institute of Public Finance and Accountancy.
