After many years in the shadows, polymyalgia rheumatica (PMR) and giant cell arteritis (GCA) are at last coming into the spotlight of research interest among rheumatologists and other scientists. It is part of the mission of PMRGCAuk to encourage more research, because there are still more gaps than there is research-based knowledge about these conditions.

Professional membership helps to expand our impact in the field of research and medical support.
Professional membership is offered free of charge to consultants, registrars, GPs, registered nurses, pharmacists, chartered pharmacists, ophthalmologists and medical students with an interest in PMR and/or GCA.
